Why was the site set up.

Ireland Karate News was set up to provide a platform for Karate information in Ireland. It is non political and is open to all Karate practicioners in Ireland.

All clubs regardless of style or affiliation can participate and advertise their events and achievements. The publication of material on the site is totally FREE and all material will be posted together with a link to your site or with contact details if you wish, provided that the content is about Karate. We will only review the articles to ensure that they are suitable and that they are not offensive.

I have been practicing Karate for a number of years and have always found it difficult to find information on Karate in Ireland, such as Clubs, Events and Seminars or general information about the achievements of various Karate Practitioners in Ireland. This is mainly due to the large number of different styles and organisations around Ireland. I know that there are a lot of other Karate practitioners in Ireland with the same enthusiasm for the sport and who are curious to find out what is happening in their chosen sport in the country.

My background is in Website design and I decided to set up the Ireland Karate News website as a hobby to provide a forum for all Karateka in Ireland to contribute to. I hope that people will supply information about their clubs, the events they attended and their acheivements both nationally and internationaly. I also hope that the various associations around Ireland will use this website to tell us about their ethos and lineage.

There are a number of very respected experts in Ireland who may be interested in submitting articles about Karate in the country, be it opinions, historical facts or others. If you are one of these experts, feel free to send us the article and we will happily put them up on the site for free.
